Robin Disbro's Obituary
Robin DeAnna Maynard Disbro, 62, of Huntersville, went to be with the Lord on November 4, 2024. She was born on March 25, 1962, in Detroit, Michigan to the late Kenneth and Patricia Maynard.
As a child, Robin dreamed of becoming a nurse and after getting her Bachelor’s Degree at Wayne State University and Nursing Degree at St. Clair Community College, she did just that and went on to be a nurse for 30+ years. Robin never met a stranger; she made her love for her family known to all whom she encountered. She enjoyed spending time with family more than anything and especially loved her latest role as Nana to 3 beautiful grandchildren. Her energy and smile were infectious. Her heart was as large as her spirit, always uplifting others and sharing joy; her love knew no bounds. A true embodiment of selflessness, Robin was life’s grandest blessing and God’s gift to earth in the form of a nurse, daughter, sister, wife, mother and grandmother.
Robin is survived by her husband Stephen; son, Dallas Disbro of Washington D.C.; daughter, Stephanie Terzek (Taylor) of Denver, NC; stepmother, Kathy Maynard; grandchildren, Hudson, Emerson and Eden; sisters, Kim Sciculna (Tony) and Debbie Weisman (Larry); stepsister, Lisa Colling (Harry); and stepbrother, Don Tailor (Pam).
A memorial service will be held at 1 PM Saturday, November 16 at Lake Norman Baptist Church located at 7921 Sam Furr Road Huntersville, NC 28078. Visitation will follow at the church.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in Robin’s memory to Sheltering Arms Foundation to support Sheltering Arms Institute (SAI), one of the nation’s top 20 physical rehabilitation hospitals located in Richmond, VA. At SAI, the spinal cord injury and complex care unit is named in honor of Robin’s son Dallas. Gifts in Robin’s memory will enhance care for people experiencing traumatic brain injury.
