Phillip Mullis
Uncle Roger was such a fun and loving uncle. He took us to Suttle's Swim Club on Wilkinson Blvd. many times before he was married with his own family. He taught me how not to drown (but I thought he was trying to drown me). He had a little yellow MG sports car he would drive us around in. Later in life, he got into the family business, barbering, like his dad and two older brothers (Ronald and Harry). I greatly enjoyed time with Roger in Harry's Barber Shop. Having two barbers meant more money for me shining shoes. Uncle Roger was kind and loving to all, always a great listener and conversationalist. Roger had a wonderful smile that lit up a room when he entered. His positivity was definitely contagious. He amazed me at how determined he was. When he got interested in something, he went all in, not matter how unconventional. One time he went on a potato diet. That's all he ate. And sure enough, it worked. He wasn't content with just learning to cut hair; he learned all the latest techniques and styles, including perms (remember those days?). Above all, Roger was a loving and caring father, husband, son, brother, uncle, brother-in-law, friend, and follower of Jesus Christ. All my love, Phillip Mullis
