Dear Susan
I am a minister in the Huntersville area. As a minister, I look to the bible for comfort and hope in difficult times such as you are currently going through. The scripture at 2 Corinthians 1:3-4 states "Praise be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of tender mercies and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our trials..." Of course he does this with his holy spirit when we pray for such along with the wonderful hope held out in the resurrection.
When we think about it, death is not natural. It is painful and cruel to those of us that have lost loved ones in death. It was never God's purpose that we die, we receive this fate because of Adam and is disobedience to God's command to not eat the forbidden fruit. God's purpose was and still is that healthy obedient humans live in the earth in peace and happiness, not die in a world of grief and suffering as we now see.
If you would like to know more, please go to JW.org and search on "resurrection".
It is my hope that you will find satisfying answers to your bible questions there that will provide you with the sure hope that the bible holds out to us.
If you would like to discuss more, please feel free to contact me at 912-312-1871. My wife and I would love to share more encouraging thoughts from the bible at a time convenient to you.
