Ruby Ellington Wilson's Obituary
Ruby Lee Ellington Wilson was born June 18, 1921 in Chattanooga, Tennessee and the angels carried her home on May 19, 2016.
Lee was a sweet encouraging “mother’ to many. Her infectious smile spread easily. Her favorite part of the day was hearing devotions. She loved garden clubs, bridge clubs, PTA, being a Sunday School teacher and girl scout leader. Being athletic, Lee excelled in competitive ice skating and swimming. Lee loved her guitar. Lee graduated from Central High School and Mackenzie College in Chattanooga.
She is survived by her daughters; Linda Wagner of Knoxville, TN and Teresa “Terri” Latta and son-in-law William Latta of Davidson, NC, and sister, Irene “Lyn” Lindsey of Chattanooga. Also, grandson, David Wagner and several great grandchildren.
Lee was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Oscar N. Wilson, sister, Louise Flatten, brother, Dr. William Lee Ellington and parents Walter and Annie Pearl Ellington.
The Wilson’s were longtime residents of Knoxville, Tennessee and Seymour Tennessee. Lee will be buried at Berry Highland South in Knoxville, TN.
A private memorial service will be held at James Funeral Home in Huntersville, NC. Lea lived in the Huntersville area for the past eight years.
