Ruby Sumner's Obituary
Ruby Ellen Lutz Sumner, 95 of Denver died October 22, 2020. She was born on April 9, 1925 in Hickory to the late Edgar and Grace Lutz.
Ruby was raised in a textile town, met the love of her life John in Hickory after WWII. Shortly after they moved to Ft. Myers, Florida to raise a family then in 1976 moved to Denver, NC. Rub was a member of Webbs Chapel United Methodist Church. After 72 years of marriage, Ruby now gets to join her husband in Heaven. As Ruby always said “they were better together”.
She is preceded in death by her husband John E. Sumner.
Survivors include her sons, Dale and wife Donna of Denver and Alan and wife Tanya of Catawba; grandchildren, Garrett, Haley and Candy, Courtney and great-grandchildren, Charlee Rose and Warner.
Services will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation, alzfdn.org.
