Russell Vuolo's Obituary
Russell John Vuolo, 92, of Huntersville died December 26, 2020 at his home. He was born on April 17, 1928 in New York, NY to the late Umbert and Catherine Vuolo.
Russ was above all a devoted husband, father and grandfather. As a young man, he was a very accomplished athlete in track, football and wrestling on his native Long Island. Russ was also a decorated WWII Navy Veteran. After his military service, Russ pursued his passion for cars and racing as he built and raced cars in the earlier days of racing along the East Coast. He settled into a long career as a quality control engineer in the defense and aerospace industry.
Survivors include his daughters, Barbara G. Sparrow (Paul), Ellen M. Vuolo, Colleen A. Marrapese (Michael), Peggy M. Johnson, sons Gerard M. Vuolo, Christopher T. Corrigan (Monica), nine grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his former wives Joan R. Vuolo, Ruth A. Vuolo, son Phillip M. Corrigan and son-in-law Harvey Johnson.
A graveside service will be held at a later date at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, Seville, OH.
