Ruth Blackwelder's Obituary
Ruth Reames Blackwelder, 92 of Huntersville died January 31, 2021. She was born on December 6, 1928 in Charlotte to the late Frederick and Elvira Reames.
She is a lifetime Episcopalian and is a member of St. Mark’s Episcopal Church where she taught Sunday School, served the Alter Guild, the Pastorial Care and led the Newcomers Committee. She Graduated Harding High School, class of 1946 and was active in the Alumni Association. Ruth was born on a farm in Derita, N.C. and lived her entire life in Charlotte.
She is preceded in death by her husband Kennon Blackwelder.
Survivors include her sons Cliff Blackwelder and wife Kathy of Stanley N.C. and John Blackwelder and wife Joan of Chapin, S.C. ; sister, Frankie Lopez; 6 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to St. Mark's Episcopal Church.
A private graveside will be held at 10 AM Saturday, February 6 at St. Mark's Episcopal Church.
