Ruth Westmoreland's Obituary
Ruth McCorkle Westmoreland, 94 of Huntersville died December 19, 2020 at her home. She was born in Rowan County on August 28, 1926 to the late Clifford and Edith McCorkle. She was a longtime, active member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church and the F.W. Kiker Sunday School Class. Ruth worked as a registered nurse.
Survivors include her sons, Mack Westmoreland and wife Marla, Wayne Westmoreland and wife Mary Ellen and Keith Westmoreland and wife Robin, all of Huntersville; brothers, Harold McCorkle and Jerry McCorkle; 8 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Her husband Thomas “Mutt” Westmoreland, sisters, Evelyn Overcash and Kay Beaver and brothers, Sam McCorkle and Bill McCorkle preceded her in death.

A Graveside service will be held at 2 PM Tuesday, December 22 at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church.
