Sadie Bateman Phelps' Obituary
Sadie E. Phelps, 93, of Huntersville died June 19, 2023. She resided at Olde Knox Commons, now Lakeside, for many years. She was born in Columbia, NC on December 9, 1929 to the late John Albert and Mildred Bateman.
Granny ... As she was affectively known to almost everyone! She was very athletic in High school and studied nursing after graduation. She opted to become a wife, mother and homemaker. She raised 3 children and many, many grandchildren and great grandchildren. She enjoyed a full life and shared it with her two brothers and sister. She was loved by all!
She is preceded in death by her husband William Thomas Phelps, II. Survivors include her sons, Bill Phelps of Ft. Mill and Carl Phelps and wife Cathleen of Huntersville; daughter, Debbie Goris of Charlotte and 9 grandchildren.
The funeral service will be held at 2 PM Thursday, June 22 at James Funeral Home. Visitation will be 1-2 PM prior. Burial will follow at Northlake Memorial Gardens.
