Sally Buff's Obituary
Mrs. Helen “Sally” Kenney Buff, 49, of Concord, North Carolina passed away on Friday, January 23rd 2026. Her long battle with cancer came to an end while under the care of hospice. She passed away while surrounded by her family.
Sally was born in Concord, New Hampshire on January 18th, 1977. She lived in many places along the east coast until relocating to Charlotte, North Carolina to attend college at UNC Charlotte in 1995. In 1999, Sally graduated from UNC-Charlotte with a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education. She was a member of the Sigma Kappa Sorority. While attending UNC-Charlotte, Sally met her husband, Robert “Robbie” Buff. When she graduated, she obtained her first teaching job in Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools at David Cox Elementary. She then was hired at Highland Creek Elementary School and helped open the school. In October 2024, Sally had to step away from teaching to focus on her battle with cancer. Absent from her family, Sally’s greatest passion was educating children. She was a kindergarten teacher for all 25 years of her career. Sally and her husband, Robbie, were also members of St. Mark Catholic Church of Huntersville, North Carolina. She was preceded in death by her father, James “Jim” Kenney.
Sally Buff is survived by her husband of over 25 years, Robbie Buff, their child; Sarah Buff of Concord, North Carolina, Mother; Shirley Kenney of Concord, North Carolina, Sisters; Rebecca Ferguson (Michael) of Rockhill, South Carolina and Rachael Walsh (Sean) of Carrboro, North Carolina. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews; Zachary Ferguson, Hannah Ferguson, Ethan Walsh, Luke Ferguson, Anna Walsh, and Nathan Greene.
Funeral services will be held as follows:
Tuesday, Feb. 3rd (11am): Funeral Mass at St. Mark Catholic Church (Open to all) 14740 Stumptown Road / Huntersville NC 28078
Tuesday, Feb. 3rd: Graveside Service and Burial at Northlake Memorial Gardens immediately following the Funeral Mass (Open to all)
