Sam Wilson's Obituary
Samuel Moore Wilson, Jr., 71 of Huntersville died September 21, 2014 at Carolinas Medical Center. He was born on October 1, 1942 in Mecklenburg County to the late Samuel M. Wilson,Sr. and Frances Christenbury Wilson. Sam was the retired owner of Wilson’s Meat Market and owner of the West Huntersville Storage Center. He was a member of the Chamber of Commerce, had perfect attendance for 25 years in the N. Mecklenburg Rotary Club and was a mason in the Long Creek Masonic Lodge. His involvement in community service demonstrated Sam’s giving personality. Sam loved spending time with his family and friends and help create special memories for them.
Survivors include his son, Gene Wilson of Charlotte; daughters, Donna Scott of Encino, CA and Paige Hybarger of Denver, NC; their mother Frances Lancaster and her husband Al of Huntersville; sister, Linda Smith and husband Harry of Huntersville; grandchildren, Heather and Harleigh Hybarger and Max and Frank Scott; and fiancé Deana Carlyle.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM Wednesday, September 24, 2014 at Hopewell Presbyterian Church, 10500 Beatties Ford Road, Huntersville. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will follow in the Family Life Center.
