Sandra Astroth's Obituary
Sandi Astroth, 71, passed away peacefully on the morning of July 8,
2024 surrounded by her loving family. Sandi was a devoted mother, beloved school
teacher, and cherished member of the communities in which she lived.
Sandi was born in Doylestown, Pennsylvania, to Harry and Eloise Mae and was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Barbara. She is survived by her three sons Matthew (Lori), Gregory (Carrie) and Nicholas (Sarah), in addition to her five grandchildren, niece, and nephew.
Sandi graduated from Central Bucks High School West then continued her education at West Chester State College, Pennsylvania, graduating with a degree in health and physical education. With a desire to obtain her teaching certificate in elementary education she later attended High Point College in North Carolina. Her passion for education led her to a successful career as an elementary school teacher where she touched the lives of countless students with her kindness, creativity and dedication.
She was a loving and nurturing mother and later “Nana” who always put her three boys and five grandchildren first. She will be remembered for her sense of humor and her fun loving, adventurous and determined spirit. She enjoyed camping and hiking with her family. As a mother of boys, she supported them in numerous sports, mended their wounds and followed their antics.
She had a deep love for all animals and over the years cared for many dogs, cats, birds, hamsters and the occasional turtle that her sons brought home. Later in life she cared for and spoiled her three dogs Maggie, Sadie Mae and Tucker.
Sandi will be deeply missed by her family and friends. She leaves behind a legacy of love, compassion, and strength that will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. She will be remembered as a devoted mother, a passionate teacher, and a kind-hearted soul who brought joy and love to all who knew her. May she rest in peace.
A sincere thank you is extended to the caregivers at Sunrise Senior Living for the loving care and compassion they provided.
A private ceremony will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation made to the SPCA of the Triad (https://www.triadspca.org/donations-and-wish-list) or to the Humane Society of the Piedmont (https://www.hspiedmont.org/donate).
