Sandra Calohan's Obituary
Sandra James “Sandy” Calohan, 73, of Cornelius, went to be with the Lord on March 26, 2026. She was born on October 6, 1952 in Mecklenburg County to the late Sam Lawrence James and Sara Moore James.
Sandy was a graduate of North Mecklenburg High School. She had a deep faith and trust in The Lord.
Sandy was a wonderful cook. Her cheeseballs and orange cakes were among a couple of the family favorites. As a woman who owned a construction supply company years ago in a male dominated field, she was a force to be reckoned with. She did not suffer fools lightly and was quick to let you know where you stood with her. Despite that, she had a heart of gold and would do many kindnesses for those around her. She never got into the fads of this life – like Diet drinks or diet anything for that matter. She liked her regular Coke and cherry lemon Sundrop and refused to eat broccoli.
She will be deeply missed.
She is preceded in death by her husband Dusty Calohan.
She is survived by her devoted and loving son, Jason Matthew “Matt” Morrow; grandchildren, Hannah, Alexandria, Alyssa, Isabella & Issac; and brother, Steve James and his wife Pam.
Memorials may be made to Via Hospice, 705 Griffith St. Suite 203, Davidson, NC 28036. The family would like to thank them for their love and care.
Her services will be private.
James Funeral Home of Huntersville is serving the family.
