Sarah Blythe's Obituary
Sarah McCall Blythe, of Charlotte, passed away October 1, 2017. She was born on May 4, 1924 in Charlotte to Cyrus and Mary McCall. She was a graduate of Central high School in Charlotte and served 2 years in the US Navy Waves during WWII. Sarah lived her life with a spirit of giving and never expected anything in return. She was an excellent cook and her pound cakes were in perpetual demand in the Long Creek community. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend to all.
She is survived by her 4 children, Sandra Blythe of Charlotte, Susan Blythe and her husband Jim Jones of Oak Island, NC, James Blythe and his wife Marcie Page of Kannapolis and Jeff Blythe and his companion Gary Coleman of the home; as well as 4 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Barbara Bennett of Anderson, SC and Mary Ann Reep of Birmingham, AL.
Memorials may be made to Lower Cape Fear Hospice, 955 Mercy Lane SE, Boliva, NC 28422.
A funeral service will be held at 11 am Saturday, October 7 at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. A reception will follow in the parish hall.
