Sarah Knox's Obituary
Sarah Mills Knox, 98 of Huntersville died June 5, 2017 at the Huntersville Oaks. She was born on May 5, 1919 in Huntersville to the late Robert Neal and Martha Steele Knox. Miss Knox was a graduate of Cornelius High School and King’s College. She retired from Rogers-American Company of Charlotte.
A life-long member of the Huntersville Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church, she served in many ways and most notable as the church secretary for many years.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Evelyn K. Washam and husband Caswell, Hazeline K. Peoples and husband Howard and brother-in-law William O. Brown, Jr.
Survivors include her sister Shirley K. Brown, her nieces, June B. Overcash and husband, Richard, Sharon B. Allen and husband, Richard, Connie W. Heath and husband, Ricky, and many grand-nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held at the church on Friday, June 9 at 2:00 p.m. with the Reverend Lee Shelnutt officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. prior to the Memorial. Burial will be private.
The family wishes to give special thanks and gratitude to the staff at Huntersville Oaks and to the Hospice staff.
