Scott Christian O'Halloran's Obituary
Scott was born in Hollywood, Florida, the seventh child of Robert and Patricia O’Halloran. He attended St. Thomas Acquinas High School in Ft. Lauderdale Florida, graduated from high school in Kingston, New York, and earned an Associate Degree from the State University of New York in Courtland, NY.
He then entered the FAA Academy in Oklahoma City. Upon graduation he began his career as an air traffic controller at White Plains, New York. From there, he moved to LaGuardia Airport and later Charlotte Douglas International Airport, the fith-busiest airport in the United States in terms of aircraft operations. He retired in 2021 after 30 years of service.
Scott’s passion for aviation was also evident in his hobbies. He held a private pilot’s license and flew his own plane. He shared his talent for detail in the many radio-controlled aircraft he built and successfully flew with his two sons. He was also a superb sailor and captained his own 47-foot sailboat single-handedly.
Scott had a kind heart and willingness to help everyone. With his many talents he was able to fix or build just about anything, from repairing foreign cars to renovating antique houses. He particularly enjoyed helping his Charleston sailing friends resolve all manner of problems with their boats. His keen intelligence and easy-going personality made him someone you wanted to know. Scott will be missed immensely by many people.
He was preceded in death by his siblings; Robert O’Halloran, Gregory O’Halloran, Deidre O’Halloran, David O’Halloran, and Stephen O’Halloran.
He is survived by his sons, Ryan O’Halloran and Declan O’Halloran, his partner, Lisa Marie Scott, and his sister, Deborah Tarantino.
