Sharon Florence Sheridan's Obituary
It is with deep sorrow and love that we announce the passing of Sharon Sheridan, a beloved wife, mother, and devout Catholic, who passed away on August 29, 2025 at the age of 77.
Born on February 8, 1948 to her parents, Raymond & Mary Hood. She grew up in sunny California alongside her 5 siblings where she loved to garden, learn to sail and paint. She got her Masters degree in Psychology from Loyola Marymount and for over 50 years, worked for social services and public education supporting children in foster care, people with disabilities and community college students. Sharon devoted her life to the Catholic faith, family, and service to others.
She was married to her loving husband and soulmate, Paul Sheridan Sr., for 43 beautiful years. Together, they built a life grounded in love, faith, and commitment. As an incredible mother to her four children, Sharon found her greatest joy in raising her family and creating a home filled with love, laughter, and prayer. She will be remembered for her unwavering strength, fierce loyalty, Irish spirit and compassionate heart.
She is survived by her husband, Paul Sheridan and her loving children: Paul Sheridan Jr., Katie Sheridan, Mary Giuffre and her husband Jon, Patrick Sheridan and his wife Mary Catherine. She was a proud grandmother or “G-MA” to Nora, Mikey, and Gemma, who brought her the greatest joy and laughter into her life.
Sharon is also survived by her 2 sisters, Kathy Keller and Mary Ellen Hood and her brother, James ‘Jimmy’ Hood’. She will be embraced by her beloved family in heaven including her parents, sister, Patricia and brother, Phil.
A funeral Mass will be held on Friday, September 5 at 3pm at St. Mark’s Catholic Church. A visitation and rosary will take place on Thursday, September 4, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, at James Funeral Home.
Sharon lived her life imitating the “little way” of St. Therese of Lisieux doing ordinary things with extraordinary love of God.
“When I die I will send down a shower of roses from the heavens, I will spend my heaven by doing good on earth.”
~ St. Thérèse of Lisieux
Prayers are requested for the repose of her soul and God’s consoling graces for her family. Donations can be made in her memory to St Mark Catholic Church.
Arrangements are in the care of James Funeral Home of Huntersville, NC.
