Sharon Swanson's Obituary
Sharon Theresa Swanson, 49, of Mooresville, passed away in the comfort of her home on December 3, 2018. After a near two years of battling cancer, the war is over and she is at peace.
Her memorial service will be held at James Funeral Home in Huntersville, North Carolina, at 2:00 PM on Sunday, December 9, 2018. A reception will follow the service in the James Funeral Home Community Room.
Sharon was born May 20th, 1969, in Bluffton, Ohio, to Rodney and Mary Lou Baltosser. She grew up in West Unity, Ohio, and moved to Texas to graduate from Ambassador University in 1991 where she obtained a degree in Theology and a minor in English. A year later she married fellow alumnus, Will Swanson, on May 31st, 1993. After being settled in Dallas, TX, for a few years Will and Sharon moved to Indianapolis, IN, in 1996. Together they raised two children, Hunter (21) and Haven (19) as well as 17 animals (not all at once!) Sharon began working at WorkSmart Systems as an insurance benefit’s specialist in 2008 and continued as a remote partner once they relocated to Mooresville, North Carolina, in 2013 to be closer to family. When she was not working or spending time with her children, she put her green thumb to use and tended to her beautiful garden as well as crocheted afghans.
She was proceeded in death by her father, Rodney. She is survived by her husband (Will), two children (Hunter and Haven), two brothers (David and Andrew), her mother (Mary Lou), as well as several nieces and nephews. Anybody who knew Sharon understood her passion for the art of words, photography, travel, and time spent with family. Her wit kept everybody on their toes, especially when playing card games with her family. Her attitude was always inclined towards positivity and understanding that God has a plan and she is along for the ride. Never a pessimist, she took her final trial in strides as she said, “What happens will happen.”
