Where do you start to talk about a friend that you have never not known? We were in first grade together and after a memorable school history, we graduated high school together. Once we had done all the after school things, we both ended up back in Huntersville. Marriage, children, lots of life experiences and still friends after 72-73 years of life. We shared children stories, recently grandchildren tales, plus I bought all my chicken feed, seeds and all the whatever’s from Davis General Store. He being my friend, would sell some of my food products, often, we just swapped it out. Where else in American can that be done, only Croft NC. As I reflect on all these years, there is a tear for the loss, a smile for a lifetime of great memories. What an honor to call him “My Friend”. Our paths will cross again and we’ll catch up where we left off. Soar higher than the buzzards we watched in flight training, from the porch of the “old store”.
