Solomon Neville's Obituary
Solomon Whit Neville, 88, of Charlotte, NC, died November 15, 2022 at University Hospital.
He was born January 25, 1934 in Suffolk County, Virginia to Netia Pecolia Craddock and Jesse Lee Neville. He attended Cypress Chapel High School, then transferred to Wheyleville High School in Suffolk, Virginia. After high school, he served in the 82nd Airborne at Fort Bragg, North Carolina, from 1951-1956. After serving in the US Army, he was employed with Overnite Transporatation where he had 39 years of service. He was a member of Sunset Baptist Church in Charlotte, but, had not attended for some time, due to health issues. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jean Teague Neville; a son, Barry Carr; a brother, Fletcher Lee Neville; his mother and father , Jesse and Netia; his son, Solomon Whit Neville, Jr (little Dubby), and a great grandchild, Abigail Torrence Neville. Survivors include a son, Frank Carr; daughters, Judy Campbell and Gina Fields; 5 grandchildren, Bridget Knipshield (Kevin), Candace Livingston (Craig), Brandy Torrence, JR Campbell ( Mindy), and Crystal Torrence , and 10 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren . In lieu of flowers, we’re asking that donations be made to your local Humane Society, pet rescue or animal shelter. Our dad loved his pets and I’m sure he would love the idea of your donations.
