Sue Trygar's Obituary
Peggy Sue Trygar was welcomed into the arms of Jesus as His Beloved Bride on November 26, 2023 at the age of 62.
Sue was born in Cleveland, OH to parents John Luther and Wanda Mae Detamore on June 12, 1961 as the youngest of five siblings. She married and laid roots in Dunmore, PA for nearly 22 years before remarrying and relocating to Deland, FL in 2002. She lived happily in Florida for nearly 16 years before moving to Charlotte, NC in 2018 where she spent her remaining years closer to her children.
Sue was an amazing woman that gave much and asked for nothing. She was a passionate follower of Jesus and an active member at each of her home churches throughout her life in Pennsylvania, Florida, and North Carolina. Sue was known as a prayer warrior as well as a supporter of missions and various other outreach programs, including opening her home to missionaries and other guests in need. She was a skilled cook and baker, and often times used this talent to selflessly bless family, friends, church programs, and many others with catering-quality meals, cakes, and treats. Sue loved deeply, and was a loyal wife, mother, and friend. She was adored by all those that knew her, and could easily develop new acquaintances into lifelong friendships. She had an incredible sense of humor and always found joy even in life’s toughest moments. Sue relied fully upon God in every aspect of her life, including overcoming cancer in 2009 via prayer and fasting. She was a bright light unto the world; her life and legacy will be a lasting testimony and example for others to follow.
Sue was preceded in death by her parents John and Wanda, first husband James, husband David, and her beloved dog Patches. Left to cherish her memory are children James (wife Angell); daughter Christine (husband Phil); sisters Mary, Connie, and Pat (husband Tim); brother John "Bub" (wife Donna); many stepchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family, and her sweet cat Chloe.
A celebration of Sue's life will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, December 9, 2023 at Fire Church of Concord with Pastor Chris Williams officiating. The family will receive friends at the church following the service. For friends and family unable to travel, the service will be streamed at the following URL: https://fire.online.church/
In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to the Fire International missionary fund of her close friend Alice Limpert:
