Tasha Brock's Obituary
In Loving Memory of Tasha Latora Brock 10/30/80 to 07/31/23
A daughter, a sister, a scholar, a mother, a friend, a hard worker
Tasha was born in Manning, South Carolina, to Father Willie Alfred Brock and Mother, Gladys Brock on October 30, 1980. She was raised in Summerton, South Carolina, with two younger sisters and brother to follow; Glinda Brock, Shantay Anderson and Amani Conyers. Growing up, Tasha was always more mature than her years. She was incredibly intelligent and took pride in helping others; she would take time to help her younger sister in life and school subjects that she struggled with. Although she was quiet and kept to herself, Tasha had tons of people who admired and respected her. Tasha was ambitious and hard-working; at her earliest age allowed to work, she obtained her first job at Stucky’s /Dairy Queen in South Carolina, where she worked full time during the summer months and part to full time during the school year. She was strong and independent and never looked to anyone for a handout. Upon graduating with honors from Scotts Branch High School in 1998, She attended the College of Charleston in Charleston, South Carolina obtaining a Bachelor of Science Degree.
After leaving Charleston, Tasha moved to Charlotte North Carolina where her younger sister was then attending college. She quickly obtained her first job at Showmars Restaurant, where she rapidly rose to the position of night manager, and then store manager. She was a fair and caring employer; offering jobs to anyone who needed help, her younger sister included. She continued her career working through various managerial positions throughout the Charlotte Mecklenburg area, all while raising her precious daughter Thyla Gagner born in 2004, whom she loved more than anything in this world. She was incredibly patient, fun, funny, and all around amazing and beautiful person. To know her is to love her.
In addition to her mother Gladys Brock, survivors include her daughter, Thyla Gagner and siblings, Glinda Brock, Shantay Anderson, Amani Conyers, Heather Smith and a host of family and friends.
