Teresia McDonald's Obituary
Teresia Lynn Ashmore: A Life of Adventure, Family, and "McDonald’s Spaghetti"
July 16, 1957 – February 11, 2026. Teresia Lynn Ashmore, a tiny woman with a brave heart and an unforgettable laugh, passed away peacefully on February 11, 2026, at the age of 68. She was surrounded by the people she loved most—her husband and her children—just as she always wished to be.
Born in 1957, to Jack and Eppie Lee Ashmore, Teresia was a five-foot-two spitfire who navigated life with a resilient smile. She was a woman who reveled in adventure, never afraid to get out and experience life to the fullest. Whether it was traveling to new places or taking risks that others wouldn’t dare, Teresia had a spirit that couldn't be contained. She was rarely seen without a dog by her side; she loved every dog she ever met and would find a way to take them in, making her the "Mom" her family always knew. She also, love to watch TV*.
Teresia lived for the moments when she could turn up the music and get ready to go out. She’d dance with her kids to Prince’s “Kiss” and was convinced George Michael was the finest man alive, often giggling at the lyrics to “I Want Your Sex.” In the kitchen, Teresia was a woman of mystery and legends. She was famous for her “McDonald’s spaghetti”—a staple of noodles and canned tomatoes topped with Cheetos or potatoes—which she ate almost every day. She also possessed a culinary magic trick: she could make a salad of only lettuce and tomato that would sit in the fridge overnight and somehow emerge perfectly crunchy with its own delicious dressing. However, her skills had one hilarious limit: her pork chops. fried so hard they sounded like a saw going through a tree, they became a long-running family joke. Her kids would tease her by mimicking the old Shake 'n Bake commercial—"And I helped!"—a memory that never failed to make the whole family roar with laughter.
More than anything else, Teresia just wanted to be loved by her family. She never gave up on anyone, and she made sure her kids knew they were loved Ino matter where they were in life. In her later years, she found a beautiful peace and companionship with her husband, Ronald Call. Though they fought like siblings at times, their bond was one of deep love and mutual care. For the first time in a long time, Teresia felt safe and at peace, knowing she was right where she belonged.
She is survived and deeply missed by:
• Her Devoted Husband: Ronald Cleon Call.
• Her Children: Jerry McDonald Jr. (Melisa), Angie Tumlinson (Tommy), Johnnie Jallo, and Jack Bob McDonald (Deana).
• Her Grandchildren: Jessica, Jerry, Michaela, Cailie, Gage, Ashlee, Caitlyn, and Brett.
• Her Great-Granddaughter: Eliza.
She joins her parents and her eight siblings in rest. Teresia Lynn Ashmore was a lady who chose adventure, loved fiercely, and left her family with a legacy of laughter and a reminder to always stay "crunchy" under pressure.
James Funeral Home, of Huntersville, is serving the family and obituary lovingly written by the family.
