Terrell Dale's Obituary
Terrell Keith Dale of Huntersville, NC passed away on July 7, 2014 after a long illness. He was born on August 27, 1947 in Dalhart, TX to Fern Moss Dale and the late Robert L. Dale and raised in Pryor, OK with his three siblings, Gary Dale (Margaret), Charles Dale (Judy) and Pamela Migliaccio (Richard). TK volunteered for service in Vietnam. After an Honorable discharge from the Navy in 1969 he attended Oklahoma State University.
In 1978, TK and his first wife, the late Cathleen O’Brien Dale, moved their young family to Colorado, where he took a position with the fledgling company IBM. In 1986, the family moved to Concord, NC and TK continued to work at IBM until 1993. Since 2004, he has been employed at NGK Ceramics in Huntersville. The family would very much like to thank NGK and his coworkers for their support and friendship.
TK will be forever missed by his beloved daughters, Lucian Dale Wilhelm (Jason) of Kannapolis and Avery Dale of Portland, OR. He met his future wife and best friend, Patsy Mundy Dale and the two were married in 1999. She and her children, Tina Barkley Kerr (Lore) and Scott Barkley (Christi) provided him with 19 years of wonderful memories. Their children, Robbie, Natalie & Adam Kerr and Tyler & Cole Barkley might have been his own grandchildren for all that he loved them.
A talented amateur carpenter, TK will be remembered by all who knew him for his sharp sense of humor, his arcane knowledge of flying machines and as an inveterate fixer of broken things.
A funeral service will be held at 2 PM Thursday, July 10 in the chapel of Lake Norman Baptist Church. Visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral service. Burial will follow at Hopewell Presbyterian Church.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers donations be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or Levine & Dickson Hospice House.
James Funeral Home of Huntersville is serving the family. www.jamesfuneralhomeLKN.com
