Terry Lane Williams' Obituary
The family of Terry Lane Williams, of Huntersville, is saddened to announce his peaceful passing on November 14, 2024, at the age of 79.
Terry was born December 10, 1944, in Greenville, South Carolina. He was the son of the late James and Avinell Williams. After graduating from North Mecklenburg High School, he went to work at Piedmont Natural Gas where he retired as Marketing Manager after 42 years. Terry was a member and supported The Derita Masonic Lodge for 50 years. He enjoyed playing golf and fishing. Terry was a big advocate for organ donation as he was a recipient of double lungs in July 2009 at Duke Hospital. The past 15 1/2 years would not have been possible without his donor, Nate. Terry was a big animal lover and especially to his miniature schnauzer Spanky, who crossed over the rainbow bridge in April. The love and companionship they shared was truly very special.
Terry will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 60 years, Joyce; children, Tiffany Stutts (Jack) and Scott Williams; grandchildren, Corey Harris of Mooresville and William Harris (Julia) of Cornelius.
Celebration of Life will be held at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, November 19, at Huntersville United Methodist Church. The family will receive family and friends following the service.
The family would like to express sincere gratitude to the Duke Transplant Teams, especially to Dr Paul Reynolds and Transplant Coordinator, Tracie Holland.
Also, our thanks to Bayada Home Health Care and especially William Griffin.
Memorials can be made to Huntersville United Methodist Church 14005 Stumptown Road, Huntersville, NC 28078 or donor's choice.
