Theresa Gribschaw's Obituary
Theresa “Tessie” Gribschaw, 92, passed away January 12th, 2018. She was born in Glassport, Allegheny County, PA on December 10, 1925 to the late John and Josephine Komasinska Walczak. She was preceded in death by her brothers and sisters: Rev. Stanislaus Walczak, John “Happy” Walczak, Mary Lykowski, Laura Zdobinski Tosic, and Victoria Churney, by her daughter Ann Marie Fiore Soltis, and grandchildren, Beth Ann Gribschaw and Stephen M. Gribschaw. Theresa is survived by her husband, Stephen V. Gribschaw and her children, Stephen John Gribschaw of Largo FL, Teresa Day and Gregory Gribschaw, both of Cantonment FL, Kate Traud of Charlotte NC, and Stanley Gribschaw of North Huntingdon PA. In addition she leaves behind 18 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
Theresa was a member at St. Mark Catholic Church in Huntersville, NC and formerly of Queen of the Rosary in Glassport, PA. Theresa worked at US Steel Corporation in McKeesport PA supporting the WWII war effort. Theresa also worked at United States Glass Company in Glassport PA. She regularly worked at the voting polls for the Board of Elections in Glassport PA. She loved to travel and visited all 50 states with her husband, Stephen. Her most enjoyable calling was being a loving wife and mother to all of her children, and a generous and caring grandmother to her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a gentle spirit who loved, guided, and provided a source of strength and comfort to her family. She will be greatly missed.
The family gives thanks to the wonderful caregivers who helped her during her journey to meet our Lord, especially those at Preston House Assisted Living and Hospice of Charlotte and Lake Norman NC. Visitation will be held at James Funeral Home in Huntersville, NC on January 16th, 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. A mass of Christian burial will be held at St. Mark Catholic Church in Huntersville, NC on January 16th at 12:00 noon. Her final resting place will be in Calvary Cemetery in Port Vue, PA.
