Therese Audette Kennedy's Obituary
Mrs. Therese “Terry” Audette-Kennedy, 93, passed away peacefully Monday, March 1, 2021.
The youngest of four children, Terry was born in New Bedford, Massachusetts, on August 26, 1927 to the late Zacharie and Irene Begnoche.
Growing up, Terry enjoyed dancing for the military camps and learning how to cook. She raised her family on Long Island, NY, and retired from Fairchild Republic. She was most recently happily settled in North Carolina. She was an active resident of Shad’s Landing Retirement Community where you would always find her at the Bingo table or the horse races. She loved sing-a-longs and a party with sweet treats. Terry enjoyed crosswords, jigsaws and the casino; she never ignored a lonely slot machine. She loved watching any sports event. Terry made a friend everywhere she went and was always found with a smile on her face. To her family, she was lovingly known at Mimere and she loved her family more than anything. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Kennedy, and her three siblings.
Terry is survived by her sons Robert Audette (Rita), Ronald Audette (Diane), and Norman Audette; grandchildren Christine Muldowney (Ed), Jennifer Backus (Brian), Nicole Mitchell (James), Jeannine Audette, Christopher Lengsfeld (Jennette) and John Lengsfeld; 7 great-grandchildren and many other loving family members and friends.
On behalf of Terry’s family, a special thank you to all of the staff at Shad’s Landing for the care, kindness and familial love that was showered over her. She enjoyed each day.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Friday, March 5, 2021 at James Funeral Home of Huntersville. The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm – 1:50 pm at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital on her behalf, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or https://www.stjude.org/donate.
