Thomas Keel's Obituary
Thomas Marvin Keel, 85, of Concord, died February 13 at his home. He was born on January 1, 1940, in Raleigh NC to the late Fonnie and Ila Keel.
Tom retired from the City of Raleigh Public Utilities Department after 30 years of service. Tom was known for his unbelievable ability play most any request from the 40's and 50's on the piano and organ. He enjoyed being competitive as a racecar driver and especially go-carts. He also enjoyed dancing, shagging especially, with his wife, Jan, and traveling. Tom and Jan truly enjoyed traveling the world and lots of cruising.
Survivors include his wife Janet Hunt Keel; daughters, Deborah Keel of Key West, FL and LeaAnne Hahnel (Stan) of Spring Hope, NC; stepson, Bryan Gibson (Magdalena) of Concord; 7 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, and siblings Jack, Norwood, and Bertie.
A Memorial service will be Saturday, March 8, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Bethpage Presbyterian Church located at 6020 Mooresville Road, Kannapolis, North Carolina 28081 in the Educational Building.
Memorials may be made to Atrium Health Hospice & Palliative Care Cabarrus 5003 Hospice Ln Kannapolis NC 28081 in memory of Thomas Keel.
