Thomas Joseph LaHaye 1933 – 2025
Thomas Joseph LaHaye, 92, passed away peacefully on November 16, 2025, in Charlotte, North Carolina. Born on August 26, 1933, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, Tom grew up on Lake Minnetonka. He was the beloved son of the late Florian and May LaHaye.
Tom was a kind and generous man, known for his warm spirit, quick wit, and love of telling stories and jokes. He had a deep passion for golf and found great fulfillment in volunteering for his church. A devout Catholic, Tom was steadfast in his faith, which guided him throughout his life. He proudly served in the United States Army and later built a distinguished career in aerospace, working for over 35 years
and traveling the world for both business and pleasure.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 63 years, Mary LaHaye; his son, Mark LaHaye; his three sisters—Muggs, Gertrude, and Maryann; and his two brothers, Joe and Lenny.
Tom is survived by his children: Laura and her husband, Pat Clark; Kathy Walsh; Michael and his wife, Lori LaHaye; and Diane and her husband, Allen Luna. He is also survived by seven grandchildren: Ryan and his wife, Ashley Smithson; Brooke Carter; Jennifer LaHaye; Jamie Walsh; Spencer LaHaye; Brian Simonson; and Brittney Simonson, as well as five great-grandchildren: Rylen Fogle, Bryn
Smithson, Ella Kate White, Claire Smithson, and Ashton Anaya.
The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to Tom’s devoted caregivers, Lizzette Gonzalez and Carmella Williams, whose care, compassion, and dedication brought comfort, dignity, and joy to his final years. Their kindness will always be remembered.
Tom will be remembered for his unwavering faith, his generous heart, and the joy he brought to all who knew him. His legacy lives on through his family, his stories, and the countless lives he touched.
