Thomas “Tommy” Virgilio, 84, passed away on February 20, 2020 in Charlotte, NC – Born in Brooklyn, NY, Tommy was a longtime resident of Cranford, NJ. Friends and relatives are invited to celebrate his life at Dooley’s Funeral home – 218 North Ave. West, Cranford, NJ, 07016 – Saturday, February 29, 2020 at 12pm.
Also known as Poppy, Uncle Slick, Pauly Walnuts, and Mr. B. – Tommy served on the 38th parallel during the Korean War. Upon his return, he worked as a pharmaceutical coater for 35 years at the same company.
Tommy loved making people laugh, mail order catalogs, ironing, landscaping, trinkets, family photographs, old westerns and war movies, and his BMW convertible.
Tommy was predeceased by daughter Michele Fetter; and is survived by son Thomas Virgilio and daughter Nicole DeMello. He is the grandfather of Austin, Jake, TJ, Matthew, Nina, and Christian.
James Funeral Home of Huntersville served the family locally.
