Timothy Alexander's Obituary
Timothy Vaughn Alexander, 57, of Cornelius passed away October 14, 2021 at his home after a courageous bout with cancer. He was born on September 19, 1964 in Iredell County.
After graduating from North Mecklenburg High School, Tim was employed as a lineman for Williams Electric. Later he worked many years for Curtis Screw as a machinist. Being a jack of all trades, motors and machines are what brought him joy. He could take an engine apart and put it back together with ease. Learning from his father, an original shade tree mechanic, Tim carried on the tradition and was a great mechanic. He loved vintage cars and trucks. He loved being at the beach or being in his small boat with his dogs at the lake. Tim enjoyed everything to do with summer - no shirt - no shoes - just carefree. Most of his time was spent just riding around in his Chevy van or Chevy pick up enjoying the scenery or seeing where this road goes or that one. Always wondering around. He loved his family and was always there for family functions, graduations, Carowinds, NC state fair visits, family reunions - you name it.
He attended church at First Baptist Church of Cornelius. When youth summer camp to Ft. Caswell rolled around, for over 10 years he spent a week of his vacation going there as the male chaperone for the FBCC youth group. The students enjoyed being around him.
Survivors include his daughter, Keleigh of Anderson, SC, son, Tyler of Myrtle Beach, SC, sister, Diana Sharpe (Mike) of Cornelius, sister, Amy Alexander, an over the road truck driver and brother, Terry Alexander (Anita) of Mooresville. Nephews: Caleb (Amber) Sharpe, Jonah (Candace) Sharpe, Talon Sharpe, Samuel Sloop, Joshua Sloop, Donny Alexander. Nieces: Rachel Sloop, Rebekah Sloop, Crystal, Trista and Tiara. Numerous great-nieces and great-nephews. He also leaves behind his 2 dog companions, Buddy and Holly.
Tim was preceded in death by his parents, Ronald Vaughn Alexander and Carolyn (Brown) Alexander. Also, both sets of grandparents.
A memorial service will be held at the First Baptist Church of Cornelius on November 6th at 6:30pm with Pastor David Judge officiating. The family will receive friends after the service in the church's fellowship hall.
