Timothy William Cunnane's Obituary
Timothy William Cunnane, 65, of Charlotte, passed away Thursday, August 7, 2025, after a year-long and courageous battle with MDS.
Tim grew up in Willow Grove, PA. He later moved to Cleveland, OH, to attend the University of Akron and to be closer to family. After college, he married Judy, and together they relocated to Charlotte, NC, to pursue career opportunities and raise their three children - Kevin, Brendan, and Meghan.
Tim loved a good game, especially tennis, pickleball, and euchre. He had a gift for connecting with people on a personal level, and making them feel special. Known for his endless supply of fun facts and trivia on all sorts of topics, Tim could hold a conversation with anyone. He also had a deep love for his Irish heritage, often sharing its music with everyone he met. With his great stories and unmatched sense of humor, Tim was truly the glue that held the Cunnane family together.
Tim is survived by his wife of 40 years, Judy; his sons Kevin and Brendan; and his daughter Meghan. He will be deeply missed by his sisters Patti Davish (Jack, dec.) and Karen Allwood (John), and is preceded in death by his parents, John and Lorraine Cunnane; his brothers John Cunnane and Brian Cunnane (Adrian). Tim will also be dearly missed by his many nieces, nephews, cousins, and countless friends.
The family will receive friends at James Funeral Home in Huntersville on Monday, August 18, from 9:00–10:00 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Saint Mark Catholic Church, 14740 Stumptown Road, Huntersville. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Myelodysplastic Syndromes (MDS) Foundation at https://www.mds-foundation.org
