Tommie Ann Bost's Obituary
Tommie Ann Mundy Bost, 71, of Cornelius, died peacefully April 7, 2013 at the Huntersville Oaks surrounded by her loving family after a long battle with Alzheimer’s. Born May 29, 1941 in Mooresville, NC she was the daughter of the late Rueben Flake Mundy and Zella Mae Wagner Mundy. Tommie Ann was a lifetime member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church where she was employed as the Financial Secretary for over seventeen years. She was also a faithful member of the Don Bridger Sunday School Class and Mollie Sherrill United Methodist Women’s Circle. She enjoyed playing bridge, the beach and being a devoted wife, mother and grandmother to her family.
Tommie Ann is survived by her loving and dedicated husband of 42 years, Joe K. Bost, Sr., three children: Kirk Bost of Cornelius, NC; Beth Dove and husband Steve of Huntersville, NC and Angela Bost Fletcher of Cornelius, NC and her sister Joan Marie Bustle of Cornelius, NC. In addition her legacy includes six grand-daughters, Samantha “Sam”, Allison “Alli”, Alexandria “Alex”, Emmalee, Rylee and Sarah Beth who were the light of her life. She is now reunited with her parents and sister, Estalene Mundy Sherrill who preceded her in death. We rejoice in this happy reunion and thank God for His gift of everlasting life.
It is Tommie Ann’s request that anyone wishing to honor her do so with a memorial contribution to Mt. Zion United Methodist Church, 19600 Zion Street, Cornelius, NC 28031.
The family will receive friends at James Funeral Home from 6-7:30pm on Monday, April 8, 2013.
A service to celebrate her life will be held at Mt. Zion UMC in Cornelius on Tuesday, at 11:00 with burial following in the church cemetery.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff and Hospice for the wonderful care she received while at the Huntersville Oaks.
