Tonja Kayleen Summitt, 55, of Denver, NC died September 8, 2015 at CMC. She was born on November 21, 1959 to the late Glen and Lois Lowe. She was a member of Metrolina Church and worked as a business consultant for Ingersoll-Rand. Read Obituary
I had the pleasure of working with Tonja for many years at Wachovia, but she was more than just a co-worker, she was a freind. Tonja always brough great energy to all that she did and also a passion for doing the right thing, which was driven by her faith. She will be missed, but all that knew her are better for that experience. She influneced many and made life better.

So sorry to Tonja's husband Keith, her children and grandchildren. Also to her colleagues, friends and relatives. Also for her dogs as they will also miss her deeply. May God keep you all in the palm of his hand today to give you comfort, peace and a celebration of her life, gone too soon but not to ever be forgotten. I wish I had met Tonja but my husband works with Keith at AECOM. She was born the same year as I was. I think we would of been friends quickly as she seems from what is being posted she was very awesome to many people and that speaks volumes to her legacy. We have lost many family members due to their battling with cancer so this does weigh heavy on our hearts for many reasons. We will be praying for all of you as this time and know that you will see her again and she lives on in your hearts, your memories and in her children & grandchildren. She will be with you always watching over you and your lives. God bless you all and love to all.
My deepest sympathies to Tonja’s family. I worked with Tonja when First Union opened their call center up in Allentown, PA over 17 years ago. While the start-up was at times chaotic and stressful, she brought a sense of fun and exhilaration to it (like dancing the Macarena with new hire classes to help break the ice with the new leadership team.) I have fond memories of team building sessions and site activities from those days. She took us out of our comfort zones and was a teacher as much as a manager. She was a great leader who truly cared about others and she had such a true passion for what she did. A quote she always shared that still resonates with me is ‘do something you love and you’ll never work a day in your life.’ Also the 'Starfish story' of how one person can make a difference, even if it's one person (or starfish) at a time. No doubt she will still be sharing her wisdom in Heaven and having those with her dancing and laughing. She will be missed greatly, but undoubtedly she has a made a difference to so many and her legacy will remain. God bless.
I worked with Tonja at Ingersoll Rand. She was a consummate professional and everything she did was with such passion and energy. She won the respect and love of many at Ingersoll Rand, because of her indomitable spirit and caring heart. She was always warm and had a wonderful smile. She will be missed. I too pray for the family that they will have peace and comfort in this difficult time.
I met Tonya first time three years ago in Shanghai when she delivered the master coach training in A3. I was impressed by her passion, energy, positive attitude.Also, she has no resevation to share her expertise and insight with us. I will miss you as friend and teacher.

From the a few interactions with Tonja, I was always impressed and engaged by her energetic spirit, her sincere smile and for sure, her warm and timely turn-around.

This beautiful verse describes our dear friend & colleague, Tonja. She loved her Lord and Savior, her family, her colleagues, her work, her dogs, her LIFE...! She filled a room with laugher and cheer. I am better for having the opportunity to work with her. May you be blessed by God's healing and peaceful hand during this difficult time of loss.
Without a doubt, heaven gained an amazing angel today. Tonja was one of a kind. She had a way of making every person she came in contact with feel like they were the most important person in her day. And, she came in contact with LOTS of people every day! She was patient, kind, never boastful, never angered, rejoiced with the truth, WOW!... are we seeing a so very clear parallel to I Corinthians 13?!?! Yes. Tonja was love. She loved her family, her dogs, her work, her colleagues, she loved life. My heart is heavy for our loss. Yet I know the heavens are celebrating her arrival and saying "well done, good & faithful servant..."
