Valerie Black's Obituary
Valerie June Black, affectionately known as “Val”, departed this life too soon on Tuesday, 11/16/21.
For 33 years, Val had been the beloved daughter of Eddie & Kayren Black, & sister of Amanda & Lisa. Val enjoyed shopping, swimming, arts & crafts, participating in Special Olympics, working for soup kitchens & Meals on Wheels, & shelling on Edisto Island, her favorite place. Val was a sweet & simple soul who loved spending time with her family, including niece Casey & nephews Spencer, Dillon, & Lucas. She was funny, enthusiastic, & always had a story to share. Val was predeceased by her grandparents, John & Marie Black of Huntersville. In addition to the above family, she is also survived by grandparents David & Bonnie Bryant of Carthage, NC.
A private family service will be held at a later date. Val was a special person who will truly be missed.
Please remember her with a gift to one of these worthy organizations who helped to enrich her life: Soup Kitchen of Lincolnton, Meals on Wheels of Lincolnton, & UMAR.
