Veronica Coughlin's Obituary
Veronica (Ronnie) Marie Coughlin, 70, born on February 11, 1945, passed away peacefully at home after putting up a valiant fight against both heart disease and cancer. She was predeceased by her parents, along with her brother, Raymond Coughlin and sister, Maryann Coughlin. Ronnie is survived by her beloved sister, Elizabeth (Betty) DeSalvo, dear sister-in-law, Alice Coughlin, along with numerous nieces, nephews, grand nieces and nephews, and her first great grandniece as well as multiple friends and long-time co-workers, all of whom she valued and cherished. Ronnie was a remarkable daughter, being the primary caretaker of her mother, Marie Coughlin, who suffered from Parkinson’s disease for over 15 years. Ronnie was a dedicated and generous sister, sister-in-law and a wonderful Aunt who served as surrogate mother, confidante, and counsel for so many. Her generosity, love and wisdom will never be forgotten. Ronnie was employed by Nassau Community College for 40 Years working in various positions within the Payroll Department, working her way up from Clerk to Payroll Supervisor throughout her tenure. Her dedication, extensive work hours, intellect and sense of mission to a cause greater than herself ensured her success in that Department.
Services will be held at the Hungerford and Clark Funeral Home in Freeport, NY Friday, October 23rd Hours are 2-4 and 7-9. Saturday Mass will be held at 9:30 at Our Holy Redeemer. Burial to follow at Saint Charles in Farmingdale, NY
