Vito Conforti's Obituary
Vito Conforti, 72, of Huntersville, NC passed away on Wednesday, February 24, 2016 at his residence.
He was born on February 17, 1944 in Newark, NJ and was the son of the late Michael and Mary Balestrieri Conforti. In his youth, Vito performed extremely well in the classroom and on the gridiron. Vito "Golden Arm" Conforti is remembered as the greatest football player in the history of Our Lady of the Valley High School. After graduating from Boston University, Vito became a successful financial advisor. Vito carried his professional life with the utmost honor and integrity, shouldering the burden and stress of looking after other people's portfolios with careful attention.
Vito and his wife, Vicki, shared a wonderful marriage for over 45 years. Vito was a truly faithful husband, always adoring and appreciating Vicki. As a father, Vito gave of himself unselfishly to provide and care for Michael, Marianne, and Mark. And as a grandfather, Vito was a doting "Pop Pop" to Connor, Tyler, and Mia. Vito always loved his large Italian family (over 150 people!).
Vito will always be remembered for his exuberance, love of people, physical fitness, and being an encourager. Vito found his "true riches" in God, and strongly desired for all people to be encouraged to do their best for God.
Survivors include his wife, Vickie Whorton Conforti of Huntersville; two sons, Michael Conforti, Mark Conforti and wife Mary Allen, all of Salisbury; one daughter, Marianne Martella and husband Paul of Farmington, MN; one sister, Josephine Inga of Rockaway, NJ; and three grandchildren, Connor, Tyler and Mia.
A Memorial service will be held on Sunday, February 28, 2016, at 2:00 PM, at Davidson United Methodist Church with Dr. Jody Seymour officiating. The family will receive friends following the service in church fellowship hall.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Vito's memory to either the American Heart Association or the Davidson United Methodist Church Building Fund (233 South Main Street, Davidson, NC 28036).
James Funeral Home of Huntersville, NC is serving the family of Mr. Conforti and online condolences can be made to jamesfuneralhomelkn.com.
