Vivian Johnson's Obituary
Vivian Mundy Johnson, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and devout Christian, peacefully departed this world on February 3, 2025, at the age of 81. Born in the vibrant community of Mecklenburg County on November 26, 1943 to Harry Lee Mundy and Lula Beatrice Hager Mundy, Vivian spent her formative years in the picturesque Long Creek Community, surrounded by her large family and friends who nurtured her faith and love for life.
Vivian’s journey in life included a rich tapestry of experiences that began with her education at North Mecklenburg High School in Charlotte, NC, where she graduated with the dedication and spirit that would define her approach to life. One of her most cherished milestones was marrying her high school sweetheart, Johnny William Johnson. Together, they built a life filled with fun, love and companionship. Their beautiful union blessed them with a great family & marriage that endured for 49 years until Johnny's passing in 2013.
Her family was the heart & purpose of her world. Vivian was the devoted mother of two loving sons, William “Keith” Johnson (Tracy) and John “Kevin” Johnson (DeAnn). She reveled in her role of being a grandmother "MawMaw," holding a unique bond with her two precious grandchildren, Jason & Hannah, whose company brought immeasurable joy to her days. Her unwavering love and abundant generosity were constant in their lives.
A strong and supportive sister, Vivian is survived by her sisters, Martha M Jordan and Judy M Fleming, and her brother, Dale Mundy. She was predeceased by her brother, Kenneth “Kenny” Lee Mundy and sisters, Elizabeth “Liz” Kloeckler & Linda Mundy. She loved her large family and enjoyed her personal relationship with each of her siblings.
Vivian will be celebrated in a service dedicated to her memory on Wednesday, February 19, 2025, at 1:00 PM at James Funeral Home, located at 10520 Arahova Drive, Huntersville, NC 28078. This occasion will be a tribute to her life of humility, devotion, and unforgettable grace.
In keeping with Vivian's generous spirit, her family welcomes memorial contributions in her name to Hospice & Palliative Care, Charlotte Region, 7845 Little Avenue, Charlotte, NC 28226, in lieu of flowers. May her soul rest in eternal peace, embraced by the love of her Savior and reunited with those who have gone before her.
