W. Dwight Primm's Obituary
W. Dwight Primm, 86, died on Friday November 6, 2015 at his home in Charlotte. Born in Charlotte on December 12, 1928 to the late Lottie Simpson Primm and the late Harold E. Primm, he lived his entire life in Charlotte.
He graduated from Paw Creek High School in 1949 and then served in the US Army. He worked for Southern Bell and AT&T for 35 years.
Being a life member of Pleasant Grove Methodist, he was a member of the Madeline Tyson Covenant Sunday School Class.
He coached little league baseball for 18 years for the Coulwood/Oakdale league. He enjoyed all sports, but baseball was his passion.
Dwight is survived by his wife of 64 years, Elizabeth Puckett Primm, daughter, Elaine Stroff and husband Mike of Emerald Isle, NC; son, David Primm and wife Lynette of Charlotte. Affectionately known to his grandchildren as Poppy, he was a devoted and loving grandfather to Michael Stroff, IV and wife Christina of Uvalde, TX, Elizabeth Stroff of Raleigh, Brittany Primm of Gastonia and Katelyn Primm of Charlotte and 2 great-grandchildren, Amelia Stroff and Michael Stroff V of Uvalde, TX.
The funeral service will be held at 2:00 Monday, November 9 at Pleasant Grove U.M.C. with burial following in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1-2 prior to the service in the sanctuary.
Pallbearers will be Richard Smith, Donnie Adams, Michael J. Stroff, IV, Chip Adams, Danny Beam, and Michael J. Stroff, III and honorary pallbearers will be Jimmy Puckett, Billy Puckett and Bobby Puckett.
