Wade Deese Jr.'s Obituary
Wade Hampton Deese Jr., of Concord, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on May 24, 2025, at The Mount Pleasant House Assisted Living Home. He was born on May 27, 1937, in Heath Springs, South Carolina, to the late Wade Hampton Deese Sr. and Molevia Mungo Deese.
Wade was a beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend. A true Southern gentleman with a warm smile and a heart devoted to Christ, Wade lived a life full of faith, family, and purpose.
A lifelong Duke University basketball fan, Wade could always be found either cheering on his Blue Devils, teeing off on the golf course, or sharing the Gospel with anyone willing to listen. His love for golf was matched only by his dedication to being a disciple of his Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ.
Wade was preceded in death by his loving wife, Jewel Helms Deese.
He leaves behind a legacy of love and faith in his large and devoted family: Siblings: Randy Deese and Carolyn Thornton Children: Michael Deese (Cindi), Dawn Young (Al), John Deese (Shemika), Terry Stroud, Jenny Kearns (Garry), Chuck Morgan (Susan), Julie Morgan, and Jo Lynn Hamilin. Grandchildren: Star Deese (Romelo House), Skye Young, Jaheim Deese, Malaysia Deese, Mallory Deese, Josh Deese, Matthew, and Derek, Jessica Sheilds (Rion), Joycelynn Hamlin, Colin Myers (Dennise), Molly Morgan, Emily Kearns, Ashley Kearns, Courtney Harris, and Trey Hamlin. Wade’s gentle spirit, pure heart, and sweet swing on the golf course will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. His joy for life and his dedication to sharing the love of Christ touched countless lives.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on Thursday, May 29, 2025, at 11:00 AM at James Funeral Home in Huntersville, North Carolina. The family will receive friends at 10:30 AM, prior to the service. Wade’s son, Deacon John Deese, will officiate the ceremony. A reception will Immediately follow.
The family would like to express heartfelt thanks to Wade’s lifelong friends for their love and loyalty, and to the staff of The Mount Pleasant House for their compassionate care and for loving Wade as their own.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Wade’s honor to The Mount Pleasant House in Mount Pleasant, North Carolina.
