Walter "Palmer" Watson's Obituary
Walter Palmer Watson, 88 of Concord, NC died April 7, 2018. He was born on January 27, 1930 in Stanley County to the late Ernest and Hilah Watson.
He is survived by his wife Norma Efird Watson; son, Dean Watson and wife Lisa of Midland; daughter, Kathy Kiser and husband Rodney of Cornelius; sister, Opel Sells of Albemarle; 5 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by 4 sisters and 1 brother.
Palmer worked as an electrical contractor in Charlotte for 50 years. He served at his church as chairman of the deacons, sang in the choir and taught Sunday School. In retirement, he and his wife moved to the Gardens of Taylor Glen. The family would like to thank Taylor Glen staff for their compassion and care for Mr. Watson.
Memorials may be made in lieu of flowers to Pitts Baptist Church, Hospice of Charlotte or the Shriner’s Hospital.
A service to celebrate his life will be held at 2 PM Tuesday, April 10 at Pitts Baptist Church with Rev. Scott Davis, Rev. Harold McDonald and Rev. Mark Clontz officiating. Visitation will follow at the church. Burial will be private at Sharon Memorial Park prior to the service.
