Dianne Vinson Godbey, 58, of Mooresville, NC died July 1, 2013. She was born on November 17, 1954 in Greenville, SC to Aleen Smith Vinson and the late Rev. George Franklin Vinson, Sr. Survivors include her son Shane Truesdale and Read Obituary
Dianne was a kind and gentle soul with a heart of gold. I remember the day Shane and Megan got married she was so happy. We got our hair and make up done and after we were dressed in our wedding clothes she took my hand and with tears in our eyes she said we are family now. She was such a beautiful person and I loved her. Momma D I will miss your sweet smile until we meet again.
It is a special thing to gain a friend in a sister in-law. I've often heard of in- laws actually being out-laws. Dianne, my friend, was so special to me as we played, lived, and even worked together at Wall Street News. She was a laughter waiting to happen any moment. Her talent in her art work was awesome and touched many hearts including my family. She once gave me a stained glass window many years ago and I continue to look at it daily in our home. It has a red cross right in the center. She is and will be missed. Her walk showed me, she had found peace in her life. The peace only Jesus can give.She was at her parents every Saturday spending time with the family and Sunday morning, I'd see her going to church with her mom. They usually would eat afterwards. She was a child of God and enjoyed helping others and loved her family. She leaves a legacy of family. I will miss our hugs,our laughs, and those special moments. Well, I'll have to let her go now and rest in the arms of Jesus. She will be spending time with her daddy and grandparents and has no more pain. I know she will be keeping an eye out for us in Heaven, waiting to show each of her love ones those streets of gold and her precious Savior Jesus. Thanks Dianne for the memories,see you later.
I am so sorry for your loss. The Bible provides comfort during these difficult times. Revelation 21:3,4 states "And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away". Very soon now, we will never experience losing our loved ones in death. Hope these words give you a new hope. jw.org
I was so saddened to hear about Dianne. I will never forget the last time we spent time together
and how happy she was that day. We ate lunch at K&W with Alene and my friend Cindy. Diane was so attentive to us that day, especially to my friend Cindy because she is legally blind. Her compassion and love for others will always stand out in my mind. Many years ago Diane painted a seashell for me and wrote a Bible verse on it, " Fear not for I am with thee" Isa. 45:10. I cannot count the times I have read that verse and the comfort it has brought me, and each time, I have thought of her. Diane and her Dad are walking the streets of gold together and enjoying each other again. I pray for comfort and peace to all the family. I love each and everyone of you. I am so sad that your family has lost your precious Dianne. God held her in his arms at the end and she is peacefully singing with the angels and your Daddy in heaven. You girls beautifully sang your Dad home at the end of his life------What a special family. Dianne and I connected at the very beginning and felt that we had known each other a long time. I felt very comfortable in her presense and loved our conversations that always brought out her underlying intelligence. Peace and Love were personified in her. God's peace to you all. Annie
