I was fortunate to be in the seventh grade with Mr. Wright as my favorite teacher at Carr School in '65. He was a great teacher and role model and I'm so sorry to hear of his passing.
Lori & family: "Bud" was my first best friend when my family moved back to Pilot Mtn. from Norfolk after WW II. He remained one of my very best friends as we played football & baseball together from 4th grade 'till I left Western Carolina (we were roomies there) in 1956. Everyone looked up to "Bud" for his physical and mental strength and I'm sure he will be sorely missed.
Thank you all for your kind words and prayers. My father was my hero and if I turn out to be even half the man Pop was I will be a successful father and husband. I miss him terribly and I thank you all again for your rememberances.
Mr. Wright was a wonderful teacher. I had him in 7th grade at Carr School, the last year 7th grade was there. We followed him over to Huff Jr. High. I'm a 1975 LPHS grad. He was such a good influence on us all. He was one of the nicest teachers and I'm sure there are so many thankful LP graduates that are grateful for his influence. He was one of my favorites. My prayers are with his family.
