Wayne Elbert Bowman's Obituary
Wayne Elbert Bowman, 76, of Huntersville, lovingly known as “The Starter Man”, died Sunday, November 13, 2016 at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte.
He will always be remembered as a caring and helpful man to his many friends and a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle and brother to his family.
Wayne was born in Greenville, TN on October 2, 1940 to the late James and Zella Bowman. In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his sister, Nancy B. Mayberry.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 40 years, Irene Bowman; daughters Tonya B. Stinson (Dennis), Sonja Caldwell (Thomas); sons, Kelly McGinnis (Rhonda), Andy McGinnis (Betty), and Mike McGinnis. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Heather Hill (Mark), Heath Caldwell, Joe Lancaster, Desera Rhames; and great grandchildren Makenzie Hill and McGarrett Hill; niece Rhonda Philips (Andy).
The family would like to express special thanks to Andy and Rhonda Phillips for taking care of her Uncle Wayne.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Wednesday, November 16 at James Funeral Home of Huntersville.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church Cemetery in Huntersville.
