Wilbert Connor's Obituary
Wilbert Connor was born in Rowan County to the late David Connor and Martha McKee Connor. He fell asleep in death on Saturday August 25th at Olde Knox Commons in Huntersville. He was preceded in death by one sister: Martha Fleming and one brother, James Connor.
Wilbert attended Rowan County Schools. He retired from Cannon Mills as a machinist.
Wilbert, also referred to as “Bo” is best known for working on cars, playing cards, watching NASCAR and watching old westerns on TV. He was never one to bite his tongue. He always spoke his mind. Wilbert loved to talk to people and enjoyed giving his family and friends special nicknames.
Wilbert is survived by his wife of 54 years, Helen Rivens Connor, children: Sophia Connor of Charlotte NC, Altavia Jones of Kannapolis NC, Rhonda Bost (Ernest) of Portsmouth, VA, Casey Connor of the home, Herlina Connor Barringer of Charlotte, NC, Micah Connor of Atlanta, GA, Carol Tuck (Shirley) of Mooresville NC, Wilbert Reid of Asheville, NC, Ronnie Cowan of Mooresville NC, 18 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and a host of relatives and friends
A memorial service will be held at 12:00 p.m. Friday, August 31, 2018 at James Funeral Home with Pastor Emmanuel Boakye-Yiadom officiating.
