Deepest sympathy to the family. You are all in my thoughts and prayers. ♥️✝️️🙏🙏🙏🙏✝️️
Bill always had that smile, energy, life, and good humor! Some 25 years ago Bill was the "Senior Tea Master" for Wednesday night dinners at Bethel. Upon his retirement, Judy William's became the "Junior Tea Master"- this was our beginning friendship with Bill. We had one thing in common- our military backgrounds. Bill was in the Navy and Jack in the Air Force. Bill calls me, and wants to see all my military records and takes them home. A week later Bilp calls, and says he has two extra plots at Bethel cemetary and would like for Judy and I to have them. Now Judy and I will rest with Bill and Opal, and enjoy Wednesday nights at Bethel under the stars! Bill was special and will never be forgotten!! - Jack & Judy William's
This message is best written in the words of my late father - Bill Hay - bwho, like Bill Norberg, served his Country as a crew member aboard USS ENTERPRISE CV6 during World War II.
My dad said: “This unique aircraft carrier, USS ENTERPRISE CV6 - the most decorated ship of World War II, brought together way back then a bunch of young boys from all walks of life. And when we left her, we were men who had shared our blood and sweat and also tears for a lot of friends we’d left behind and lost in the War.”
“But I feel the ‘spirit’ of ENTERPRISE lingers on in our families and friends and others whose lives we’ve touched. We will always remember ENTERPRISE and the friends we’ve made over the years, back then and since, and we are all better people because we knew each other. “
Bill Norberg, I thank you for your love and friendship and wisdom and humor over these many years. I thank God our paths crossed and your life touched mine. YOU have made me a better person because I knew you.
Grace Hay Neie,
Your friend and an ‘Enterprise Kid’,
I am a friend of Jack Norberg. I have enjoyed being on several Navy museum trips with Jack and Bill. Each one was a lot of fun. I will miss the trips and Mr. Norberg, I am thankful for the promise of heaven and I know I will see him again, Terry Bonawitz.
Bill was a true Christian and an authenic American Hero. His devotion to his Lord, to Opal, his family and his country made him a role model for a lot of us. I will always treasure my conversations with him. He was a man who was at peace with Jesus Christ, and I know that he is smiling today in the presence of our Lord. Blessings to the Norberg family! - Dale and Mary Margaret Overcash
What a friendly, likable, stoic gentleman! I followed every word of his Memorial Day presentation. He captured the feelings of Veterans of WWII and painted a picture of an important part of history. He walked on that stage without assistance , gave a wonderful speech, and stood with no help and talked to the audience after. I am in awe. A Godly man has earned his heavenly rest. Love to the family.
