William A. Todd's Obituary
William A. Todd, Sr. (Bill) passed away on June 24, 2016 at Levine and Dickson Hospice House in Huntersville, N.C. He was born April 4, 1929.
Bill was a retired U.S. Postal Service employee. He had been sick for many years and most recently with Parkinson’s disease. He was a past member of the Long Creek Optimist Club where he coached Little League ball, a charter member of the Long Creek Lion’s Club, a lifetime member of the Long Creek Fire Department, and present member of Long Creek Masonic Lodge No. 205 AF and a lifelong member of Trinity United Methodist Church where he served on many committees through the years. He especially enjoyed working with annual Church barbeque.
Bill was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Bennie, for sixty-four years. He loved his family deeply and more than anything and he will be greatly missed. He is also survived by a son, William Todd, Jr. (wife Deborah), a daughter, Patricia Kiser, sisters-in law Marjorie Todd and Bennetta Futch. Grandchildren include William A. Todd, III, Daniel Todd, Ashley Todd, a step grandson Michael Kiser (wife Allison) and four step great grandchildren: Tessa, Ainsley, Devin, and Brielle Kiser. Nieces are Elizabeth Christian, Jan Freshwater, Cindi Clark and nephew, John Futch and many cousins.
The family deeply appreciates all the love and care provided by Olde Knox Commons in Huntersville during recent years. The family will receive friends at James Funeral Home from 4-6 PM Sunday, June 26. The service will be held at Trinity United Methodist Church on Monday, June 27 at 2:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be sent to Trinity United Methodist Church Cemetery Fund at 6230 Beatties Ford Road, Charlotte, NC 28216. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. James Funeral Home in Huntersville, NC is serving the family.
