Rest in peace dear friend. You leave many precious memories from the good old days when we were all much younger. You will be missed!
May Barry RIP. My condolences to his family. Barry was a neighbor and we talked a lot at Harris Teeter Starbucks. So sorry for the family's loss. He is one that will be missed daily!
I am so sorry to hear of Barry's passing. He was a great friend and a kind and gentle man that loved the Lord and loved people. I grew up in Gaston County and moved here in 1988. Shortly after I became friends with Barry's uncle, Murray Kelly and soon after became friends with Barry. Our friendship grew stronger over the years. Before I retired I had my work truck serviced and repaired at Huntersville Ford where Barry worked and I always got to talk to him there. I ran into Barry at Harris Teeter and Cashions and we would always "catch up" on each other. He always took time to talk and express his concern for other people in a caring way. The last time I was able to talk to Barry for an extended time was in April when we had our neighborhood yard sale. After the sale had been going on for an hour or so, Barry walked up, found him a chair and stayed with me and my daughter until it was over. Barry shared with me the adventures of growing up in this area and the people he grew up with. That's a memory I'll always have and what a good friend and neighbor he was and an asset to our community. In talking to Barry, I learned that he was also a "Born again Christian" and it was evident that the Holy Spirit was in him. I will miss him and the "Down to Earth" caring attitude he spread where ever he went. I send my deepest condolences to each of his family and I wish for God's Peace, Hope, Love, and Courage to each and every one of his family. If I can be of any assistance to any or all of you, please contact me. Blessings, Buddy Watts, Brother in Christ.
I worked for Barry and Kerry at Race Parts. Barry teased me all the time about being such a "country" girl but he was just a "good ole boy", himself! He was so kind and funny! When I would ask for help he'd say, "who's working for who here girl"?? He made me laugh every single day!! He came to my Halloween party as "Barry Wally" ! His name was monogrammed on his overalls!! I loved them!! He was a fair and true friend and never treated me with anything but respect. I will never think of him nor his family without a smile in my heart.
Many condolences to the Wally Family....,
Gail Rogers Duckett
Barry was one of the kindest people around. As an old friend of his sister, Debby, I know her heart is breaking ad she in in my prayers as is the rest of Barry's family. One thing that brings me joy is that none of us will ever think about Barry without remembering his beautiful smile.
I knew Barry way back in the day. He was a great guy and will be sorely missed by all.
The family is much in my thoughts and prayers for God's comfort and peace in your hearts.
Condolences,
Rhonda (Auten) Hathcock
I was lucky enough to work for Barry and even luckier to be able to call him
a good friend.
To Kerry, Will and Tracey you are will continue to be in my thoughts and prayers.

Barry Wally was my Brother in spirit, if only my first cousin in fact. I grew up with him, and my Father(George Kelly Jr.) loved him as a Son. Barry was one of the first people I have a memory of and I can not even grasp the reality that he is no longer with us on Earth. Barry, Lynn, Debby and Aunt Inez were as much a part of my immediate family as any Aunt and Cousins could be. Barry and I worked with my Father on the Kelly Farm on Beatties Ford Road, milking cows, cutting silage, baling hay and getting into trouble constantly. Barry would often spend the entire Summer with us and, in addition to farming, we would play baseball(Barry was a great baseball player), ride bikes, and go on walks with our Grandfather(George Houston Kelly Sr.) One of my most vivid memories of Barry was of the great times we spent at the OLD Barkleys Grocery(right across from the old Cowans Ford Monument-at the real start of Beatties Ford Rd), drinking Nehi Grape Soda(Barry's favorite) and eating Moon Pies-Barry like these so much he would lick the wrapper and say "well that is Moon Pie too"). He was an Original, a classic and as much a Kelly as those of us that wear the name. He loved Fords especially his '56(he used to race it at the Mt Holly Drag Strip-we used to put ice on the block to cool it off between races-he could really drive and would have been a NASCAR star). Beyond all odds and with few advantages, he became the owner of a very successful business. But he never forgot his roots-infact they were the basis of his life as an adult. I loved him and I KNOW that he is with my, and his adopted, Father in Heaven and I look forward to joining them one day. Good bye for now Barry and I'll see you later. Alan Kelly.
