Upon graduation from high school, he attended Clemson University, taking leave for four years while he served in the United States Navy. He returned to Clemson after his service to earn his degree. Jane survives him, as do two sons, William Neil Plyler and wife Kimberly of Huntersville, N.C. and Jeffrey Reid Plyler and wife Elizabeth of Durham, N.C. two grandchildren, Madeline Reid Plyler (Durham) and Cooper William Plyler (Huntersville) and his sister, Mary Bess Mann and husband, Charles of Sanford, N.C. He is also survived by three nephews and one niece. Bill was devoted to God, his family and his country. He was a member and Elder Emeritus at Huntersville Presbyterian Church. He was also a 32nd degree Mason and a Shriner, Oasis Temple. He enjoyed meeting people, making puzzles, blue grass music and all things motorized! His “toys” were many, as were his friends.
