William "Bill" Goss Jr.'s Obituary
William "Bill" Goss Jr., 79, of Denver, NC, passed away on Friday, August 11, 2023.
Bill was born in Anderson, South Carolina on September 6, 1943. From there the family moved to Atlanta and at the age of 17 he proudly joined the ranks of the Georgia National Guard. Upon completion of his active service, he moved to North Carolina and in 1965, he married Pamela Wallace in Winston-Salem.
Throughout his professional journey Bill served as a maintenance engineer for Sears and Roebuck beginning in Charlotte, and then traveling the southeastern US for a total of approximately three decades. He was a longtime member of the Long Creek Masonic Lodge, and he and Pam were also members of the Eastern Star. Bill was a member of Hopewell Presbyterian Church in Huntersville. Beyond his work, Bill found joy in camping traveling, watching old westerns and various sports on TV. He also loved to spend time with his cherished family and friends.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents William Goss Sr., and Thelma Ballew. Left to cherish his memory are his devoted wife of 58 years Pam Goss, as well as their children, Michael Wayne Goss (Mandy) and Charles Dean Goss (Crystal). He also leaves behind beloved grandchildren Charles Dean Goss, Jr., (Tristan) and Savannah Morgan Goss.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, August 20, 2023 at Hopewell Presbyterian Church. A reception will be held at the church from 3 p.m. until 4 p.m.
In remembrance of Bill Goss Jr., memorial contributions may be made to Hopewell Presbyterian Church and to Levine Dickson Hospice House both in Huntersville North Carolina.
